Almost all states give students English and math tests designed to measure state standards in at least some grades, but only 15 have such tests in grades 3-8 that are consistent from grade to grade. Just seven states have consistent standards-based English and math tests in grades 3-8 and meet the No Child Left Behind Act鈥檚 requirements to administer such standards-based tests in high school and give science tests at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.
